Round the world with Seven and it's community TV friends

Written by Helen Philpot, on 2009-12-02 08:26:00

Seven has been accepted to take part in the Link International Community TV project, where 12 community TV stations around the world will contribute short, localized segments of a traveler in their own community to develop a 90-minute feature length film called “The Traveller.” The film idea, originally conceived in Australia by Channel 31 Adelaide will be aired live on community TV stations worldwide to create 24-hour rolling broadcast around the world.

The film focuses on a traveler who begins his quest in Adelaide, Australia and travels to 12 different cities meeting a guide who will give him a clue and tell him where to travel next. Each of the participating community television stations will produce a 4-6 minute segment with the camera acting as the traveler’s eyes.

Thirteen stations in the following eleven countries were selected to participate in the project: Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, USA, UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Finland, and Austria.

“We’re honored to represent Northern Lincolnshire as part of a global effort to help increase awareness about community TV and share new digital media platforms that will have a positive effect on local and international communities,” said Helen Philpot Manaing Director of Seven

Seven will lead the project in Northern Lincs, to produce a segment that reflects the beauty and diversity of the area in an effort to create an international alliance of community TV stations.
