CHANNEL 7 NEEDS YOU!.....

Channel 7 has been working with the communities in Northern Lincolnshire for nearly 14 years now and we are the last local TV station now running in Britain.

For the first time ever, the Government has seen the potential for local television and are making plans to give local TV some coverage on a new Freeview channel.  If this goes ahead, it will most likely happen within the next 18 months and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) are asking for responses from the general public and media industry about how
local TV can look.

The BBC is co-ordinating 'Get Online Week' between the 18th-22nd October 2010. 10 million people in the UK have never used the internet before, which is more than a fifth of the population.

'Get Online Week' will see over 3,000 events taking place around the country which will be encouraging and supporting people to get online.

Round the world with Seven and it's community TV friends

Seven has been accepted to take part in the Link International Community TV project, where 12 community TV stations around the world will contribute short, localized segments of a traveler in their own community to develop a 90-minute feature length film called “The Traveller.” The film idea, originally conceived in Australia by Channel 31 Adelaide will be aired live on community TV stations worldwide to create 24-hour rolling broadcast around the world.
